M.Ed.* (Upcoming Course)
The Master of Education (M.Ed.) is a postgraduate professional degree that aims to enhance the knowledge, skills, and capacities of educators and teacher educators. It prepares professionals for leadership roles in education, curriculum design, policy making, and research.
Duration: 2 academic years
Eligibility: B.Ed. or equivalent degree with minimum required percentage
Annual Intake: 50
The program focuses on educational theory, research methodology, and pedagogical innovations, empowering graduates to work as teacher educators, curriculum specialists, educational researchers, and policy advisors.
B.Ed.
The Bachelor of Education Programme, generally known as (B.Ed.), is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII).
Duration: 2 academic years (maximum of 3 years from admission date)
Annual Intake: 100
Working Days
- At least 200 working days per year, excluding examinations and admissions.
- Minimum of 36 hours per week (5 or 6 days), requiring physical presence of teachers and student-teachers.
- Minimum attendance: 80% for coursework and practicum, 90% for school internship.
D.El.Ed. / BTC
Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) / BTC is an NCTE approved 2-year elementary Diploma Program by SCERT. It is a necessary qualification for the appointment of a teacher in Government Primary Schools, divided into four semesters.
This program prepares teachers for the elementary stage of education (Classes I–VIII, ages 6–14), emphasizing reflective teaching, understanding learner contexts, and effective, inclusive teaching methods.
Student-teachers engage with subject frameworks, child development theories, and diverse pedagogical approaches for holistic teacher development.
